Do biogas plants smell?

When starting a biogas project, investors face frequent reluctance of local residents towards this type of investment.

The assumption that biogas plants emit unpleasant odour, may have its origin from poorly designed and incorrectly managed installations. It has become taken for granted that if one poorly designed biogas plant emits bad smells, this applies to all such facilities.

To prevent smelly emissions into the air we use industrial, steel roof on top of each fermenter. Our storage tanks are also completely sealed and connected to the closed gas line.

Not only are our biogas plants odour-free, but they also significantly reduce odour from nearby farms or factories. In addition, our plants offer a lot to the local environment by processing local organic waste, providing new jobs opportunities and cleaner air.
